Agribiz solution to Nigeria economic crisis -Obasanjo

Masterweb Reports: Dele Ogunyemi reports ] - Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has tasked all Nigerians, including the federal and state governments to take agriculture business more seriously, saying it is the only way out of the country’s economic crisis.

Obasanjo made the call in Ibadan, Oyo State capital, yesterday while delivering the maiden Eminent Persons Business Lecture organized by the University of Ibadan School of Business in partnership with the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA), Ibadan.

The former president looked at the fall in price of oil at the world market, which has contributed to economic hardship, collapse in businesses, and stated that “in order to overcome these challenges all hands must be on deck to practically embrace agriculture and not just on papers”.

Obasanjo insisted that agribusiness has potentials to stimulate industrialization and economic growth.
